Canine Rehabilitation Training
Service Description
Our one-on-one Behaviour Modification Training is designed for dogs experiencing behavioural challenges such as reactivity, fear, anxiety, over-arousal, or difficulty coping in everyday environments. Following the initial Reactive Behaviour Assessment, each training program is individually tailored to address your dog's specific needs, triggers, and goals. The focus is not only on changing unwanted behaviours, but on understanding the reasons behind them and building the skills your dog needs to respond more confidently and appropriately. Training may include: * Identifying and managing triggers in a safe and structured way. * Building focus, engagement, and communication between dog and handler. * Developing emotional control and improving impulse control. * Desensitisation and counter-conditioning to help change emotional responses. * Building confidence and resilience in different environments. * Teaching alternative behaviours and appropriate coping strategies. Behaviour modification is a process that requires consistency, patience, and commitment from both the dog and handler. Sessions are structured to gradually increase your dog's ability to remain calm, make better choices, and successfully navigate situations that were previously challenging. Throughout the training journey, exercises may be conducted in different environments and, when appropriate, with sessions held without the owner present. This allows us to better understand the dog's individual behaviour, strengthen their skills independently, and ensure progress is based on the dog's ability rather than relying solely on the handler's presence. Our goal is to help you and your dog build a stronger relationship, improve communication, and create lasting behavioural changes that allow your dog to participate more confidently in everyday life.
